Having now returned to university after Christmas I have been giving some thought to the challenges I face with my project as I move towards making more refined prototypes. One of my greatest concerns at the moment is how difficult it will be to make a small instrument replicate the tone of a full size one: the change in scale will almost certainly affect the overall tone. In addition making the difference in tone noticeable to the untrained ear may prove to be quite difficult and so it may be worth my time to look at how other people have tried to demonstrate differences in tone.

However my greatest concern at the moment is how useful this product will be to guitar players. While I am certain that the idea has some value I ultimately want to create something that will fundamentally benefit guitar players in some way and I am not sure how important tone actually is to them. To address this issue I intend to set up an interview with a small group of guitarists within the next week or two to get a scope of what matters to them in their instruments.
